And the surprise was...

Well, I guess I spoke prematurely about our surprise date last week. The real surprise was that there was a lot of studying to do and we couldn't get the tickets I wanted. I was going to take Eli to the Jazz v. Cavaliers game. But, even though we didn't get to do that we still had a very nice night. We went to eat at Brick Oven and had a really fun time there. Eli brought me some beautiful flowers, gerber daisies of the pink persuasion, and it was just fun to spend some time together. My massage was so awesome too! It felt so good, if anyone in Provo needs a massage, go to Every Body Welcome, it's on state st. by the sprint store. You can get an hour massage from an apprentice therapist for $35, which isn't too bad of a price. Eli was so kind to get me an hour with the liscenced therapist. But maybe I'll save up and go again with an apprentice. This week has been really busy for us both. We both had our first tests, Eli's was Organic Chemistry, and mine was in History of Jazz. We're now at his parents house with Josh. It's fun there. Last night Cindy and AJ came over for dinner and a bath. Well, just AJ on the bath. He had a good time though. Today I have to work until 2, then take a test, then go to Deena's baby shower. That will be fun! Then tonight we have stake conference adult session, then maybe we'll all go to Steve and Brooke's to play Mario Cart on the Wii. So, that's that. We hope everyone has a good weekend and I think I'll post some pictures later.
Love ya!

6 month mark!

Well, Sunday marks our six month anniversary of marriage. I'd just like to say that marriage suits us both very well. We both love being married. It's just so much fun. Even though sometimes there's disagreements or we get on each others nerves, for the most part it's just a party. We went to the temple last night. That was nice to do. Tonight I have a super surprise date planned that Eli is going to love, but since it's a surprise I won't post it now on the off chance that Eli will read this before we go, that's very unlikely though. I'm at work right now and I can't wait until I get off because I made an appointment to get my Christmas massage today at 2:30! That was such a great present from Eli and I just can't wait! It's an hour long too! So, that's about all. We pretty much just go to school and I go to work and don't do much else. Cindy and AJ came over the other day. It's funny because A.J.'s favorite thing to play with at our house is the coasters. He loves coasters. Eli's been having fun playing basketball. He's on an intramural team and he plays on the ward team. He's really good at it. He's also in a soccer class this semester. He really loves to play sports and he's really enjoying the soccer team. The only downside is once he starts exercising a lot his metabolism doubles! So now we double his lunch and dinner because he's just so hungry all the time. What a growing boy!
This week Gary and Karen are leaving to go to Costa Rica for a week, so we get to go over and be Josh's new parents! It will be like I had a sixteen year old baby all of the sudden! He won't be any trouble though, Josh is a good kid. We're excited to go stay at their house for a week. It will be a nice change of pace. I'm looking forward to cooking in a big kitchen that has all the equipment I could use, and Eli likes the access to internet, ESPN, and video games. It will be fun to hang out with Josh too.
Well, that's about all I know. Countdown to the massage is 1 hour and 20 minutes. I know my sisters, especially the pregnant ones, will be jealous. To them I say, too bad. Alaina, I also had Cafe Rio this week, so double whammy!
Love ya!

New Year Stuff

So, yesterday I started two exercise classes. One is pilates, M/W mornings from 6-7. The other is an actual class for BYU, it's water aerobics and it's lots of fun! I'm really enjoying them both, although it might not have been the smartest thing to have them both on the same day because I am really sore today, but I just have been feeling like I should work out more lately. It's not my new years resolution. Funny thing about New Years Resolutions, Elder Holland gave the devotional today (it was awesome, go to speeches.byu.edu to find it, really, it's probably the best one I've heard here) and he said he wasn't going to speak about new years resolutions because most of us probably made five and have already broken four.
Our first week of school went well, it was really busy though. But we're settled into our classes. Eli's taking Organic Chemistry, Sensation and Perception, Epidemiology, Church History, Speed Reading, and Soccer. I'm taking Literature for Young Adults, Water Aerobics, Modern British Lit, Shakespeare, French 202, and History of Jazz. Eli's also doing a prep course for the MCAT. It's a pretty intensive and time consuming thing, but he's doing really well and it will really help him get a great score. I think he told me that 90% of people who take the program get in the 90th percentile on MCAT scores. So, it's going to be a busy semester. I'll just be reading all the time for class, and Eli will be studying. Methinks this will be our busiest semester. Eli said that the junior year of pre-med is always the busiest because that's when you take the MCAT. He'll do great though, he always does.
Well, that's all for today. We're going to Cindy's tonight. It will be fun. AJ is really funny. He always says, "What about this?" and shows you what he's holding. It's cute!

Ghost Town

Last night Eli and I went with his parents and brother to see a movie. I thought we were going to see Valkyrie, but we ended up seeing the movie "Ghost Town" at the dollar theater. We didn't know anything about it, but the trailer looked good. We ended up actually loving it! It had Ricky Gervais (The original Michael Scott) Greg Kinnear, and Tea Leoni. It was really good! It was very funny and clever, plus it had good character development, a really interesting story, and it was a good family movie. The only problem I had with it was that it said the "f" word twice. I hate that they had to add it to make it a PG-13 movie, other than that it was totally fine. I wouldn't take little kids to see it, but I think adults would really enjoy it. You should all watch it, especially if you have a clearplay dvd player. So, that was fun! Tonight we're having dinner with our friends Emily and Kyle. That will be fun. It's always fun to hang out with them because Kyle and Eli talk about science and Emily and I talk about fun things. Just kidding Kyle and Eli. Science can be fun. So, anyway, that's all I got!

Catch up

Well, I thought I'd have a lot of time at work last week to finish my tale, was I ever wrong. We cleaned the whole periodicals room. It was awesome! But, judging by the amount of comments I received in the last post (Thanks Ashley), I don't know if I should keep writing about our break. But I will because I secretly like to blog. So, Idaho. We drove up and missed the snow on the way up. It was a nice drive. I like taking road trips with Eli because he's fun to talk to and we just listen to music, or talk, or a read to him when there's daylight. We were lucky enough to catch the song "Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue" by Toby Keith. We love to make fun of that song. We had a good time in Idaho. We got to help clean Grandma's house, go to Lava Hot Springs, which was way nice to be in as it was snowing. It was very picturesque. We had a great Christmas Eve! We went to Aunt Susans for a while, it was fun to see her and all the cousins and aunts. Eli's cousin Mason is really funny. We were all playing sorry, and when he sat down to play, he's about 3 or 4 by the way, he ripped off his shirt and started shoving his feet into his mouth. It was really funny. We love going to Aunt Susan's house. After Aunt Susan's we went to Grandma's house for another Christmas Eve. It was great! Grandma made chilli that was really good and we got to talk to everyone!
Eli and I had a funny sledding experience. There's a really good sledding park right by his mom's house. We went one day. We went down a few times. Someone had built a big ramp of snow that you could jump off of with your sled. I told Eli I didn't want to go down it. When we were done Eli said he was going to take one last go. Here is where our miscommunication comes in. He says he said he was going on the ramp. I never heard him say that. I thought we were just going down the hill, so I jump on the back of the sled. Down we go. As we went down the hill I noticed we were headed right for the ramp. I yelled, "We're going for the ramp!" right as we flew up it. I went straight up in the air and fell straight down on my rump. It hurt so badly! Oh man, that really did hurt. I didn't mess up my tailbone though, luckily.
We had a really nice Christmas morning. It was fun! Everyone, especially Eli's mom, was so generous. We had a nice Christmas breakfast and then we left for Provo. What a scary drive! Through the Malad Pass it was down to one lane that was covered with snow and we had to go about 25 or 30 miles per hour. It was pretty unnerving, but Eli did a great job driving us! We did spin out once, but he kept us from going into the ditch and we just kept on going. Once we got to Tremonton the roads were clear. We beat the other storm coming into Provo that night. We went with Cindy, Kurt, and AJ to dinner at Kristin and Cody's. That was fun! AJ was being so cute and funny. He did this hilarious old man dance that Eli loves. Then we stopped by at his parents house. By the time we left it had snowed and all the roads were icy. Eli asked me to drive because he was sick of driving. Big mistake! I was driving down this hill that has a round-about at the bottom of it. I was going really slow, about 15 mph, and as I was turning to enter the round-about I hit ice, well, really, the whole road was ice, and jumped the median and knocked over a sign. Then, someone came down behind us and hit the ice and hit the back of our car. Luckily, all of this occured at incredibly slow speeds, so no cars or people were injured. It all turned out all right, although I was pretty shaken up. The next day was our Christmas with Eli's dad, so everyone was there, including the Rustin, he's so cute! We also received very nice presents there too! I have to brag that Eli got me a very wonderful gift! He got me an hour long massage! I haven't used it yet, but I'm really excited to! We saw two movies over the break, Yes Man (it was okay, I just hate how they add one or two really gross scenes that have nothing to do with the plot and it ruins the movie) and Bedtime Stories (Really good!). School is started now. I'd better go though, this is long enough. Thanks for bearing with me through this post. I just needed to get it out there!
Love ya!
