Better

Yes, we are all better!  Yay!  Eli has spent a lot of time resting and that is helping him.  After about a week of staying home and watching his lectures online he is back in classes.  He still gets tired easily, but he's not coughing as much and is feeling much better.  I always feel helpless when he's sick because I can't really help him out other than making him food and washing his clothes.  I can't go to his school and take notes for him, I can't do his church calling.  Poor guy. 
The cold of mine, that was so awful, was not really a cold.  I was so stuffy, with a runny nose, sore throat, and cough.  I was also really tired.  Turns out, I had allergies!  Allergies?  I've never had allergies before.  I thought growing up in Missouri, allergy-free, would protect me from allergies in Kentucky.  They are pretty similar, botanically-wise.  But alas.  I was talking to my friend who has lived out here for three years, and she told me that her allergies out here didn't act up until her second fall.  I spoke to several other people who confirmed that too.  So, I got some generic Claritin, and immediately felt better.  I feel really dumb, but also have way more sympathy for people with real and life-long allergies. 
Caroline, thankfully, never got sick.  But, now we are paying the price for letting her basically do whatever she wanted when we were sick.  She got in the habit of eating whatever she wanted whenever, watching movies and Yo Gabba Gabba (or Yo Yo Gabba as she calls it) all day, and having no discipline because we were too tired to enforce anything.  Now, she wants to watch Elmo all day long, eat bad foods, she screams when she doesn't get what she wants, and she hits all the time.  And, throws monster tantrums.  She is a toddler.  So, we are working on Operation: Bring the child back under control.  I'm open to suggestions. 
So, thanks for everyone's concern.  We are back to normal.  I'm cooking again, the house is (mostly) clean, laundry is washed and put away, and I have bleached and disinfected the whole house.  Life is busy and fun again.  The weather is lovely.  We have the windows open all day and night.  Things are good!

Caroline had her 18 month check-up this week.  At 23.8 pounds she's in the 60th percentile for weight, 90th percentile for height (She is long and lanky just like Eli), and 50th percentile for head circumference.
